Summer 2024 - Athletic Camps

Unless otherwise noted, the following camps are for boys only.

Baseball Camp

Monday, June 17 - Thursday, June 20

Session 1: Grades 6-8; 9 a.m. – 12 p.m.

Session 2: Grades 3-5; 1-4 pm

$120 per session

Limit 140 campers per session

This camp will cover the fundamentals of baseball – hitting, pitching, catching, throwing, base running as well as infield and outfield play. Games are also part of the daily schedule. Baseball Camp instruction is provided by Moeller coaches assisted by current Moeller baseball players. Please bring a baseball glove, bat and helmet. Campers can leave their baseballs at home!

3rd graders who register for both Baseball Camp/Session 2 and Basketball Camp/Session 3 are permitted to remain at Moeller for lunch under the guidance of camp counselors and will be escorted from Basketball Camp to lunch to Baseball Camp. Campers must bring their own peanut-free lunch.

Baseball Mini Camp

Incoming Moeller Freshman

This camp is designed to introduce incoming Moeller Freshman to Moeller baseball. The camp will concentrate on the skills needed at the freshman level. Please note that this camp will take place at Kremchek Stadium at the Bucher Athletic Complex in Miamiville.

This camp will teach the fundamentals of basketball, teamwork and good sportsmanship through various skill sessions, competitions, and games. Basketball Camp instruction is provided by Moeller coaches assisted by current and former Moeller basketball players. Campers can leave their basketballs at home! Each participant will receive a basketball and camp t-shirt. Session 1 (Grades 4-6) and Session 2 (Grades 6-8) campers must bring their own peanut-free lunch.

3rd graders who register for both Basketball Camp/Session 3 and Baseball Camp/Session 2 are permitted to remain at Moeller for lunch under the guidance of camp counselors and will be escorted from Basketball Camp to lunch to Baseball Camp. Campers must bring their own peanut-free lunch.

Basketball Summer League Grades 8-9

Game times are 3:30-4:30 p.m. and 4:30-5:30 p.m. (Game schedules to be emailed)

This league will give 8th and 9th graders the opportunity to play under the guidance of Moeller coaches. No practices; just games. Participants are placed on teams and are guaranteed seven games. Rosters and game schedules will be emailed prior to the start of the league. Each participant will receive a reversible jersey.

Basketball Mini Camp

Cheer Camp

Grades 1-8, Girls

Saturday, June 8; 9 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.

Join the Moeller Cheerleaders to learn how to cheer on the Blue and Gold! We will be teaching cheers, chants, and dance, along with the fundamentals of cheerleading. All cheerleaders welcome -- beginners to advanced! Families are invited to join campers for a performance at noon. Be sure to bring a water bottle! Cheer Camp instruction is provided by Moeller coaches assisted by current Moeller Cheerleaders.

Football Camp

Session 1: Grades 2-5

This camp will teach football fundamentals. Campers will be introduced to play within several position groups and will participate in various competitions. Football Camp instruction is provided by Moeller coaches assisted by current and former Moeller football players. Campers can leave their footballs at home!

Fun and Games

Grades K-4

Session 1: Monday, July 8 – Thursday, July 11; 9 a.m. – 2 p.m.

Session 2: Monday, July 15 – Thursday, July 18; 9 a.m. – 2 p.m.

This camp will teach the fundamentals of a variety of sports and playground games including wiffle ball, kickball, soccer, basketball, T-ball and volleyball (beach ball). Campers will be encouraged to develop their coordination, balance and sportsmanship skills. Fun and Games instruction is provided by Moeller staff assisted by current Moeller students. Campers must bring their own peanut-free lunch.

FUNdamentals

Grades 2-6

Session 1: Monday, July 29 – Thursday, Aug. 1; 9 a.m. – 2 p.m.

Session 2: Monday, Aug. 5 – Thursday, Aug. 8, 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. – REGISTRATION OPENS 3/1 AT 8 A.M.

This camp will teach the fundamentals of a variety of sports. Campers will be placed in groups by grade level and will stay in this group as they rotate stations throughout the day. FUNdamentals Camp instruction is provided by Moeller staff assisted by current Moeller students. Campers must bring their own peanut-free lunch.

This co-ed camp will teach the fundamentals of hockey, teamwork and good sportsmanship through drills and competition. Hockey Camp instruction is provided by Moeller coaches assisted by current and former Moeller hockey players.

Lacrosse Camp

Grades 3-8

Monday, June 24 – Thursday, June 27; 6-8 p.m.

This camp will teach the fundamentals of lacrosse, including individual position skills and team concepts. Beginners and experienced players are welcome! Lacrosse Camp instruction is provided by Moeller coaches assisted by current and former Moeller lacrosse players. Participants must bring their own equipment.

Rugby Camp

Grades 1-8

Monday, June 3 – Thursday, June 6; 3-5 p.m.

This camp will teach the fundamentals of rugby, including the skills of passing, tackling and rucking. (There will be no child-on-child contact. However, campers will use pads in supervised drills.) This camp is for all experience levels! Rugby Camp instruction is provided by Moeller coaches assisted by current Moeller rugby players.

This camp will cover the fundamentals of volleyball including serving, passing, setting, attacking and blocking. The camp will also teach team offensive rotations, serve receive and defense. Volleyball Camp instruction is provided by Moeller coaches assisted by current and former Moeller volleyball players.

Wrestling Camp

Grades 3-12 (campers in grades 9-12 do not need to be Moeller students), Boys and Girls

This camp will teach both experienced and novice wrestlers how to improve their fundamental wrestling skills. Campers will be exposed to the system of wrestling that has launched Moeller to consistent top state and national rankings. Wrestling Camp instruction is provided by Moeller coaches assisted by current and former Moeller wrestlers.

Wrestling INTENSITY Camp

Grades 3-12 (campers in grades 9-12 do not need to be Moeller students; camper must have at least 3 years of wrestling experience), Boys and Girls Saturday, June 8 and Sunday, June 9; 9 a.m. – 2 p.m.

This two-day program includes an intense focus on the sport of wrestling, including wrestling live and a high level of technical training. Campers must bring their own peanut-free lunch.

NEW! Animation Movie Production (AMP) Camp

Grades 5-8, Boys and Girls

Monday, July 29 – Thursday, Aug. 1; 9-11:30 a.m.

Animation Movie Production (AMP) Camp invites campers to be part of the entire movie-making process. Participants will be introduced to storyboarding and planning, special effects (green screen, make-up, postproduction), animation/graphic design, videography, and editing. Software used includes iMovie, Adobe Character Animator and GarageBand.

Art Camp

Session 1: Grades 6-8, Boys and Girls

Monday, June 10 – Thursday, June 13; 10 a.m. – 12 p.m.

Brain Candy: Around the World Camp will submerse campers in creative brain candy to construct characters for narrative illustration. Over four days of camp, participants will make zines (mini art themed books) using sketchbooks to make creative brain-candy inspired pages and art cards with mixed media materials. Visual journals pages and zines are great ways to engage students in long-term and short-term topical/ theme-based work. Campers will construct a variety of works culminating in a student-designed exhibition on the final day of camp when all are welcome to join us for the final hour. Art Camp instruction is provided by Moeller faculty.

Session 2: Grades 3-5, Boys and Girls

Creatures and Creativity: Global Adventures Camp encourages campers to work with a variety of materials to create a multitude of works designed to cultivate and encourage personal creativity, independence and confidence. Participants will construct a variety of works culminating in a student-designed exhibition on the final day of camp when all are welcome to join us for the final hour. Art Camp instruction is provided by Moeller faculty.

Chemistry Camp

Grades 7-8, Boys and Girls

Monday, June 3 – Thursday, June 6; 9-11:30 a.m.

$125 (Enroll in Chemistry and Engineering for a reduced price of $215)

Limit 22 campers

This co-ed camp will teach chemistry through numerous hands-on activities and labs. Participants will study density, concentration, physical/chemical changes, freezing point depression and rates of reactions. Please note that labs and demonstrations will be NEW to those students who attended Chemistry Camp in Summer 2023.

Campers who register for both Chemistry and Engineering are permitted to remain at Moeller for lunch under the guidance of camp counselors and will be escorted from Chemistry Camp to lunch to Engineering Camp. Campers must bring their own peanut-free lunch.

Chess Camp

Grades 6-9, Boys and Girls, (campers in grade 9 do not have to be Moeller students)

Monday, July 15 – Thursday, July 18; 1-3:30 p.m.

This co-ed camp is open to participants who have at least an intermediate understanding of the game of chess. Campers will practice techniques and improve skills with peers.

Coding Camp

Grades 6-8, Boys and Girls

Monday, June 17 – Thursday, June 20; 12-2:30 p.m.

$125 (Enroll in Coding and Robotics for a reduced price of $215)

Limit 15 campers

This co-ed camp will teach the basics of styling a web page. Students will learn about page structure and content, with a focus on design and making the page appear the way they envision it. This camp is for beginners and intended to introduce students to the fundamentals of HTML and CSS.

Campers who register for both Robotics and Coding are permitted to remain at Moeller for lunch under the guidance of camp counselors and will be escorted from Robotics Camp to lunch to Coding Camp. Campers must bring their own peanut-free lunch.

Color Guard Camp

Grades 6-12, Boys and Girls (campers in grades 9-12 do not have to be Moeller or MND students)

$125 (Enroll in Color Guard Camp and Summer Music Experience for a reduced price of $215)

This co-ed camp gives participants a look into what it takes to be a member of the Moeller Color Guard and the Moeller Winter Guard with a special focus on dance, flag work, and body movement. Working alongside staff and members of the Moeller/MND Band, campers will work with the traditional equipment of color guard – flags, rifles, and sabers. Never done guard before? No problem! Try something different! The week will culminate with a performance open to families on Friday morning

Campers who register for both Color Guard and Summer Music Experience are permitted to remain at Moeller for lunch under the guidance of camp counselors. Campers must bring their own peanut-free lunch.

Engineering Camp

Grades 7-8, Boys and Girls

Monday, June 3 - Thursday, June 6; 12—2:30 p.m.

$125 (Enroll in Chemistry and Engineering for a reduced price of $215)

This co-ed camp will teach the fundamentals of engineering through a variety of hands-on activities and projects.

Campers who register for both Chemistry and Engineering are permitted to remain at Moeller for lunch under the guidance of camp counselors and will be escorted from Chemistry Camp to lunch to Engineering Camp. Campers must bring their own peanut-free lunch.

High School Placement Test Prep Camp Grade 8, Boys

Session 1: Monday, July 22 – Friday, July 26; 8:30-10 a.m. OR 10:30 a.m. – 12 p.m.

Session 2: Monday, July 29 – Friday, Aug. 2; 8:30-10 a.m. OR 10:30 a.m. – 12 p.m.

$130 per session

This camp works to strengthen test-taking skills, master time management strategies, motivate and build selfconfidence. Participants will learn what to expect on HSPT test day. All students in each session will report on the Friday of their camp week at 8:30 a.m. for the HSPT practice test. Each student will need to purchase a test prep book and complete a practice test prior to camp. We will release the book title and instructions for the practice test this spring.

Lego Camp: Crusader Lego Masters

Grades 3-6, Boys and Girls

Session 1: Monday, June 3 – Thursday, June 6; 9 a.m. – 12 p.m.

Session 2: Monday, July 29 – Thursday, Aug. 1; 9 a.m. – 12 p.m.

Limit 20 campers per session

This camp will engage imagination, design, and creativity as campers compete against each other in daily Lego Challenges to be crowned Crusader Lego Master! Challenges will include topics such as physics/science, storytelling, art/fashion and historical recreation. Bring on the spectacular creations! Please note that the curriculum for both weeks is the same.

NEW! Lego Stop Motion Animation Movie Production (LAMP) Camp

Grades 5-8, Boys and Girls

Monday, July 22 – Thursday, July 25; 9-11:30 a.m.

This camp will teach participants to create an animated music video and mini-movie using Legos. Campers will learn the skill of stop motion animations, motion graphics and visual effects using iMovie, GarageBand and Stop Motion Studio.

Man of Moeller Leadership Camp

Grades 6-8, Boys

Monday, July 29 & Tuesday, July 30; 9 a.m. – 2 p.m.

This camp will introduce vital leadership skills and traits the Moeller Way! A variety of speakers and activities will teach participants how to become Remarkable leaders in mind, body and spirit. Campers must bring their own peanut-free lunch.

Robotics Camp

Grades 6-8, Boys and Girls

This co-ed camp encourages participants to explore their creativity in designing, building and working with robots. The inquiry-driven approach allows everyone to have fun in exploring robotics, whether new or well experienced in these field of study.

Speech and Debate Camp

Grades 6-8, Boys and Girls

Monday, June 3 – Thursday, June 6; 1-3:30 p.m.

Limit 12 campers

This camp will give participants the opportunity to hone their skills as arguers, listeners and speakers. Campers can expect to learn the parts of argument, ways to rebut an opponent and research skills for debate. The group will engage in formal and informal debates that will be guided and judged by Moeller’s Speech and Debate coach and team members.

Summer Music Experience

Grades 6-12, Boys and Girls (campers in grades 9-12 do not have to be Moeller or MND students)

Monday, June 3 – Friday, June 7; 1-4 p.m.

$125 (Enroll in Color Guard Camp and Summer Music Experience for a reduced price of $215)

This camp is open to boys and girls who have at least one year of band or private music lesson experience. Woodwind, brass, string, piano and percussion player are all welcome! Working alongside staff and members of the Moeller/MND Band, campers will prepare musical selections (both current and traditional) while learning techniques that will push them to become better musicians. Participants will work as a team, practice like professionals and use state-of-the-art technology. The week will culminate with a performance open to families on Friday afternoon.

Campers who register for both Color Guard and Summer Music Experience are permitted to remain at Moeller for lunch under the guidance of camp counselors. Campers must bring their own peanut-free lunch.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate ESports Camp

Grades 5-8, Boys and Girls

Monday, June 10 – Thursday, June 13; 9-11:30 a.m.

Gamers unite! Led by Moeller’s State Champion Super Smash Bros. Ultimate ESports Team and Moderator Mike Shaffer, this camp will teach participants the skills needed to compete in official Super Smash Bros. Ultimate ESport competitions. New to the world of electronic gaming? No problem! All levels are welcome!

NEW! Theatre Camp

Grades 5-8, Boys and Girls

Monday, June 24 – Friday, June 28; 9-11:30 a.m.

Theatre Camp will develop campers' creative talents and interests via activities, games, various drama workshops and live performance. Storytelling, improv, creating characters and playwriting will all be included in this inventive week. No previous experience is necessary in theatre; everyone has a creative streak. Details to be released regarding a possible end-of-camp performance on Friday in the new Paul E. Flaig Performing Arts Center. Camp instruction is provided by Moeller’s Writer in Residence, Mr. Girard, a Moeller English teacher of 20 years with an MA and MFA in creative writing, playwright/director, and a NY Times best-selling author.

NEW! Young Entrepreneur Success (YES) Camp

Monday, June 24 – Friday, June 28; 9-11:30 a.m.

Grades 7-9, Boys and Girls (campers in grade 9 do not have to be Moeller students)

This camp will ignite the entrepreneurial spirit as campers are placed on teams to participate in a business concept and branding competition. Campers will focus on applying design thinking, user experience research, and marketing principles to create a business plan including a go-to-market strategy and promotional campaign. The week ends with a presentation to a select committee made up of Moeller faculty and staff.
