FROM THE Principal’s Desk

Dear Bluejay Family,

I pray you enjoyed some well-deserved peace and play with family and friends during the Thanksgiving break. I hope you experienced moments of laughter and cherished time with loved ones. As we transition back to the routine of school life, let us carry the spirit of gratitude experienced during the holiday into our daily interactions within the St. Cecilia community.

In that same spirit, I invite you to take a moment to reflect on the impact of our dedicated staff members. As we express gratitude for their tireless efforts, please consider using the link in the Curriculum section of this newsletter to nominate a staff member who has made a positive difference in your child's life. Your acknowledgment will be a source of encouragement and a testament to the strength of our school community.

What better time to begin our preparation for the Advent season? This season of hope, joy, love, and peace is also a time of anticipation and reflection as we prepare our hearts for the coming of Christ. We encourage you to explore meaningful ways to incorporate these themes into your family life. St. Cecilia will also be organizing special activities and reflections to mark this sacred time, and we look forward to celebrating the Advent season together as a school community.

As we move forward, let the bond of peace and gratitude be the guiding force in all we do. Let’s continue to make this school year a time of growth, learning, and shared blessings. I wish you a smooth transition back to school and look forward to the continued journey ahead.

Grace and Peace,

Erin B. Henry

Principal

“Rejoice in the Lord always. I shall say it again: rejoice! Your kindness should be known to all. The Lord is near. Have no anxiety at all, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, make your requests known to God. Then the peace of God that surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.”

-Philippians 4:4-7

SCS PAGEANT

Dear Bluejay Family,

I hope everyone had a restful Thanksgiving break. We begin our winter season of soccer and basketball. Our Athletic Handbook has been emailed to everyone for review and reference. The Broussard Community 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run was a huge success. Once the rankings are posted to the race site, I will provide the link for everyone. Be proud of our Bluejays!

We would like to remind everyone of our policy for participating in extracurricular activities after school. As stated in the student handbook on page 51, "If a student is absent 3/7 or more of instructional time, he/she may NOT participate in after-school activities that day without special permission from administration." This includes, but is not limited to, team practices or games, club meetings, and special school events.

Championship gear and banners are being finalized. As soon as they are available for order, I will provide the details. Thank you for your support of SCS Athletics! To keep up with the schedule for our Bluejays, please follow the link below.

Have a blessed day,

Scott Boudreaux
