FROM THE Principal’s Desk

Dear Bluejay Family,

As we continue our journey through Advent, preparing our hearts and minds for the joyous celebration of the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ, we look forward to celebrating the birth of our Savior together as a school community.

Amid the festive cheer and secular celebrations accompanying the Christmas season, we strive to maintain a holy balance at St. Cecilia that honors the true reason for our joy—the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ. While the glittering lights, joyful carols, and festive decorations add to the vibe, let's not forget the deeper meaning. Striving for a holy balance allows us to enjoy all the seasonal cheer while keeping our focus on the spiritual core of Christmas. By keeping Christ at the center of our celebrations, we preserve the true meaning of Christmas and ensure that our festivities become a profound expression of faith, love, and gratitude for the precious gift of salvation.

Speaking of the true reason for the season, we are excited to share that our annual First Grade Nativity Play and Live Nativity events will take place this Friday. Please be sure to read the details below. These beautiful presentations, brought to life by our talented students and dedicated staff, are cherished traditions at St. Cecilia.

Thank you for your continued support, and may this Advent season be filled with hope, peace, joy, and love for your families.

Grace and Peace,

Erin B. Henry

Principal

“And the Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us, and we saw his glory, the glory as of the Father’s only Son, full of grace and truth.”

Dear Bluejay Family,

This week saw our main home game event be the 8th Grade vs. Faculty Volleyball Fundraiser. The event was a huge success from a school spirit standpoint. Not only did we eclipse last year’s goal, but there were smiles everywhere. The 8th grade boys took an early loss to the faculty, but in the extra game at the end of the night, gave the 8th grade girls everything they had. The girls were victors in both games they played. Special thanks to Mrs. Joyce Brou and Mindy Boudreaux for volunteering to supervise the concession stand which contributed to the success of the night.

Our 7th and 8th grade boys basketball teams continued their winning ways with victories this week. The 5th grade girls notched their first victory of the season despite playing with only 4 players to end the game! Our 5th and 6th grade boys are improving each week. The same can be said of our 6th and 7th grade girls.
